Whether you’re working from home, your kids are doing homework, or you’re simply sorting mail and paying bills, no one wants to work at a messy desk. There’s something about it that just zaps all the productivity out of a person. A home office needs somewhere to store files, pens, sticky notes, and paperclips—you get the picture. And sure, you could go with a gray filing cabinet. But is that really what you want to look at all day? Just because you brought your work home doesn’t mean you need to get the office cubicle.

A wall full of custom office cabinets is one of my favorite (and most impactful) design statements. It truly elevates the space from a makeshift work area to a luxurious study. Your home office should be somewhere that inspires you, that makes you want to sit down and tackle whatever is on your to-do list. Office cabinets A) as I said, make a design statement B) provide hidden storage to keep all of your files and less decorative items, and C) can offer open shelving to display personal touches like photos, books, and knick-knacks.
